ORLANDO, Fla. (May 29, 2024) -- This past weekend, 3,500 basketball athletes came to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex to participate in the 13th AAU Memorial Day Classic. From May 25-27, 344 teams competed across 18 age groups.
Many teams were local to Florida, but teams travelled from California, Georgia, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nevada, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Puerto Rico to compete.
Parents, athletes, coaches, and fans filled all three gyms around the complex for a fun filled weekend. Eighteen courts were in use across ESPN Wide World of Sports with Advent Health Arena, State Farm Field House, and the Athletic Center all seeing huge games and championship winning plays. We are so proud of everyone who came out and played their hardest. Next up are the AAU World Championships. To learn more about the events visit aauboysbasketball.org & aaugirlsbasketball.org.
